Thank you to Randy Pausch

July 25th, 2008 · No Comments · Uncategorized

Carnegie Mellon professor Randy Pausch lost his battle with cancer today. While I’m sorry to say that I do not have any inspirational personal stories that I can add from my time spent at Carngie Mellon, I do recall the buzz around campus during the early “Building Virtual Worlds” shows. His lecture and teachings have touched many people, and he provided great wisdom and encouragement for anybody looking to fulfill their dreams to the fullest. Information on his lecture, life, and donations can be found at the CMU web site: http://www.cmu.edu/news/archive/2008/July/july25_pausch.shtml.

Another Reason To Find a Close ACL Rental

July 18th, 2008 · No Comments · Austin City Limits

An article appeared today in the Austin American Statesman stating that ACL may need to use private bus companies this year, instead of the public Cap Metro service. The full article can be found here: http://www.statesman.com/news/content/news/stories/local/07/18/0718shuttles.html

We doubt that any changes will be made this year, being this close to the September show. However, if the transportation issue does change in the future, this is all the more reason to seek out alternative lodging through National Event Rental. Many of our listings are within walking distance to Zilker Park, so you would not have to worry about any shuttle changes or cost.

Housing Market Troubles?

July 9th, 2008 · No Comments · Vacation Rentals

An article today from the National Association of Realtors shows that pending home sales are down again for May. There are lots of people who are trying to sell second homes, and apparently not too many buyers. Before declaring bankruptcy or going into foreclosure, look into renting your home out for events. This can usually pay 2 or more months of your mortgage, which will help ease the pain of finding a buyer quickly. Even if you’re not in an area with a major event, like the Superbowl or Kentucky Derby, there are dozens of events nationwide in which hotels book quickly and there is a huge market for event rentals. Music festivals, biker rallies, as well as sporting events all make good events for rentals. If you know of an event that we do not have listed, just send us an email at admin@nationaleventrental.com.
