An article today from the National Association of Realtors shows that pending home sales are down again for May. There are lots of people who are trying to sell second homes, and apparently not too many buyers. Before declaring bankruptcy or going into foreclosure, look into renting your home out for events. This can usually pay 2 or more months of your mortgage, which will help ease the pain of finding a buyer quickly. Even if you’re not in an area with a major event, like the Superbowl or Kentucky Derby, there are dozens of events nationwide in which hotels book quickly and there is a huge market for event rentals.
